USDA Warns American Agriculture is Infested with Diseased Animals

"The agriculture animal industry faces increasing challenges from animal diseases, reduced fertility, low nutrition and growth and non-tariff trade barriers." That's what Roger Beachy, Director of the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA), said February 2nd as he announced $24 million in grants. "These grants will help the United States maintain a strong, internationally-competitive animal agriculture industry and lead to safer and more affordable animal products." You have to love how warm and fuzzy that sounds. Who isn't in favor of safe, plentiful, inexpensive food? Well, let's start with the USDA, the largest proponent of disease and filth in the animal agriculture industry.

Now, on the face of it, administering both food industry and consumer policies might not appear to be a contradictory arrangement, until you realize that billions of taxpayer dollars are being shuffled and distributed to corporate corn growers and giant food processors.
