I have to admit we live in a strange world right now. People (politicians) are so desperate for any good news that they will turn bad news into good news. The July unemployment numbers just came out. We lost 247k jobs in the month. Normally, a very bad number. Relative to what we have been experiencing it is an improvement. In January of this year we lost 741k jobs. So last month we lost a quarter of a million jobs and we are patting ourselves on the back.
